biography
Calle Rasmusson is a Swedish Composer, Arranger, Conductor, Producer & Drummer. For Rasmusson music begins in the invisible space between people. That is where he listens, and from there he builds.
He calls himself a musical architect, whether he is conducting, arranging, composing or producing, his focus remains the same, to create a frame where the material and the musicians can shine and unfold in their own right.
Rasmusson has collaborated with a remarkable range of artists and orchestras including The Metropole Orkest, Bohuslän Big Band, The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Norrbotten Big Band, The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tommy Körberg, Rigmor Gustafsson, Gregory Porter, Ledisi, Lalah Hathaway, Gretchen Parlato, Michael Mayo, Björn Dixgård, Cory Henry and Jojje Wadenius.
After many years as a highly respected drummer and arranger, his artistic path has evolved toward conducting. Recently he was invited to become Artistic Advisor for Göteborg Wind Orchestra.
Those who work with him often describe a rare precision combined with a deep sense of humanity, a quiet intensity that draws out the best in others. In every collaboration there is the conviction that music is not made to impress but to connect.
